Erik and Zane look band on the colossal eight-year tenure of Brian Michael Bendis’ run on Marvel’s THE AVENGERS. Zane describes his love for HOUSE OF M and his apathy towards SECRET INVASION. Erik looks fondly on DARK AVENGERS and completely forgets to mention THE MIGHTY AVENGERS and THE ILLUMINATI…but those were totally his favourite parts of Bendis’ run. Also, our duo looks at the best ways to (spoiler alert) convince children of the existence of Santa Claus, as well as the moral implications of doing so. Meanwhile, do Dr. Seuss’ stories lend themselves to adaptation, or does adding backstory ruin the simplistic nature of these stories? And lots more!
Zane gets in-depth on HITMAN: ABSOLUTION, including his support of the much criticized aspect of being quickly noticed when dressing in disguise. Also, Zane is let down by PLAYSTATION ALL-STARS, finding the comparison to SUPER SMASH BROS. hurts the title.
THE DEAD PENGUIN CLUB
In our literary supplement, Erik attempts to offer an uneducated view on a literary work in his continuing reviews of the Penguin Classics series, this time taking a look at Alexander Dumas’ The Black Tulip, which features the CRAZIEST ending of all time.
