It’s the Pure Mood podcast episode twenty one! You can listen to the show here, stream by clicking the play button above, or subscribe on iTunes! Zane picks up the New 52 Simon Baz AKA Green Lantern figure, and gives a quick review of STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. Erik gabs about SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGEANCE and the original twenty-five issue run of THE SAVAGE SHE-HULK. It’s more cancellations for DC Comics, this time including ones near and dear to The Pure Mood’s hearts – including Zane’s favourite on-going DIAL H, and Erik’s favourite DC property, THE LEGION OF SUPERHEROES. Then, it’s time to review some comics – BATMAN AND RED HOOD #20 and THE DREAM MERCHANT #1.

Zane has some problems with SLEEPING DOGS – the gameplay is a blast, but the tongue in cheek script can be grating, and the story doesn’t reach its potential by exploring any of the interesting questions about justice that it brings up. Erik talks about the 1994 Japan-only SEGA GENESIS title PULSEMAN, available on the Virtual Console. A platformer with a unique and beautiful aesthetic, and a wonderfully weird and gripping storyline, PULSEMAN is a must to check out for MEGAMAN fans, or anybody fascinated by the Singularity.

Erik gives some quick thoughts on the sequel to DRIVE, taking place in Phoniex years after the original, with Driver haven lived through even more tragedy.
